Conversations About Ukraine: Rabbi Yoshi Zweiback and Jonathan Ornstein
Monday, March 21, 2022 • 18 Adar II 5782
9:30 AM - 11:00 AMZoomAfter years spent rebuilding a Jewish community decimated by the Holocaust, Jonathan Ornstein, the executive director of JCC Krakow, has opened his facility's doors to refugees from the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
While unnerving images of an armed invasion have garnered much of the attention during the crisis, Ornstein and his colleagues have had to learn on the fly how to provide for a sizable community of displaced persons. He will discuss with Rabbi Yoshi Zweiback the human cost of Russia's attack.
Co-sponsored by Rabbi Matthew Gewirtz of Congregation B'Nai Jeshurun in New Jersey, this event will also feature Rabbi Sydney Mintz of Congregation Emanu-El in San Francisco.
