Thank you for your interest in being volunteering with Wise Readers to Leaders for the 2023-2024 school year! Below you will find a description of our remote programs and volunteer opportunities:

Remote Reading: a near-peer mentorship program in which teen or college volunteers will be paired with a K-8th grade scholar and meet independently for 30-45 minutes of tutoring each week. Tutors can help scholars with their homework, work on practice problems, play math games, and more!

Remote Math Tutoring: a near-peer mentorship program in which teen or college volunteers will be paired with a K-8th grade scholar and meet independently for 30-45 minutes of tutoring each week. Tutors can help scholars navigate difficult vocabulary, check in on comprehension, talk about themes, and more!

This program runs from September 2023 through May 2024, taking off Thanksgiving, winter, and spring breaks. Volunteers must be able to consistently volunteer for 30-45 minutes per week for the entire duration of this program!  These meeting times would be determined between you and your scholar and should most likely occur during the hours of 4pm-8pm on weekdays.
