Wise Readers to Leaders Remote Reading Teen Volunteer Application 2021

Thank you for your interest in being a Remote Reader with Wise Readers to Leaders for the 2021-2022 school year!

Remote Reading is a near-peer mentorship program in which high school and college volunteers take 30 minutes a week to read with one of our K-6th grade students. The mentor and the student are both given a copy of an age appropriate book to read together on Zoom each week. The mentor will help with vocabulary, comprehension, and fostering a love of reading in their partner!

This program runs from September through April, taking off thanksgiving, winter, and spring breaks. Volunteers must be able to consistently volunteer for 30 minutes per week for the entire duration of this program. If you were a JLL/LL this summer or have done Remote Reading before, you still need to apply for this school year!

The priority application deadline is Sunday, August 29th. After that, we will be accepting applications on a rolling basis. Please direct any questions to
